Police seek two in armed robberies

Brownsburg police are seeking assistance in trying to identify two suspects that committed an armed robbery of a Subway restaurant about 9 p.m. Saturday, only 90 minutes after committing the same act at a Marathon gas station in Avon.

The Subway that was robbed is the one at 1430 N. Green St., Brownsburg, and the gas station is at 7065 E. U.S. 36, Avon.

Police say Subway employees said a man entered the restaurant and ordered a sandwich. While the employee was preparing the sandwich, a second man, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, entered the store armed with a handgun.

The man who entered first then demanded that the employee open the cash register while the armed man entered the employee area near the register. Both employees were able to flee out the back door.

Police say the robbers took money from the cash drawer before leaving.

Anyone with information on either robbery or anyone who can identify the suspects is asked to contact Det. Mike Gill by calling 852-1109 ext. 2139 or by e-mailing to mgill@brownsburgpolice.org.

Photos of the suspects are also available on Facebook at Brownsburg Crime Tips.
