CVS robbery suspect sought

Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are looking for anyone with information about the identity of a suspect wanted in connection with at least one robbery and one attempted robbery of CVS pharmacies.

Police responded to a CVS in the 2000 block of West Washington St., Indianapolis, at about 8:30 p.m. Feb. 21 after a robbery was reported. Witnesses said a black man passed an employee a note that read “this is a robbery, I have a gun.” The note also listed specific narcotic drugs he wanted placed in a bag that he had brought. The clerk told authorities she complied with his request and the man then ran out of the store.

She described the robber as being in his early 20s, 5’3” to 5’5” tall, weighing about 150 pounds, with a light complexion. At the time of that robbery, he was wearing a black hoodie with the hood up, a black beanie, blue jeans, and brown boots.

At about 8 p.m. March 2, police were dispatched to the 5600 block of Georgetown Road in reference to an attempted robbery. When officers arrived they were told that a black male, with a similar description to the man involved in the earlier CVS robbery but this time with a goatee, had handed a clerk a note saying he was robbing the businesses and that he was armed. In this instance, the man ran from the store before the clerk could comply with his demand.

No injuries were reported in either incident and no gun was every seen by the victims.

Anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is urged to call IMPD at 327-3733 or Crime Stoppers at 262-8477 (TIPS). Callers can also text “INDYCS” plus tip information to 274627 (CRIMES).
