Treasure Hunt to feature antique market and yard sales

Event staged at Indiana Landmarks campus and throughout Old Northside

INDIANAPOLIS — On July 13, the second annual Treasure Hunt features an antiques market at Indiana Landmarks' campus accompanied by yard sales throughout the Old Northside. The free event, which is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., also includes a scavenger hunt, walking tours, entertainment, food trucks, and homemade ice cream.

At the Indiana Landmarks Center, 1201 Central Ave., and Morris-Butler House, 1204 N. Park Ave., more than 40 dealers in antiques, collectibles, and architectural salvage will set up booths on the parking lot and lawn. Visitors will find music on the plaza and an art show in the gallery of the repurposed 19th-century church.

Treasure Hunt includes yard sales throughout the Old Northside Historic District, including the big annual rummage sale at All Saints Episcopal Church at 16th and Central. Visitors can pick up a printed map showing yard sale locations at Indiana Landmarks Center.

In its own booth, Indiana Landmarks will sell donated antiques, with proceeds benefitting the nonprofit preservation organization's work throughout the state. To donate an item, check the website www.indianalandmarks.org for six drop-off dates beginning April 10.

The Old Northside district runs from Interstate 65 on the south to 16th Street on the north, and from Pennsylvania to Bellefontaine.
