Police investigate early morning death

INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating a death that occurred at 2805 N. Hawthorne Lane, Indianapolis, shortly after 3 a.m. today.

Police received a 911 call from a caller who reported hearing several shots. The caller then disconnected the call without providing further information.

When officers arrived, they found a person who had been shot outside of the residence. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call homicide detectives at 327-3475 or Crime Stoppers at 262-8477. Callers may also text INDYCS plus tip information to 274627.
