Zoobilation tickets now available

INDIANAPOLIS — It's the largest and most anticipated black-tie fundraiser in Indianapolis, drawing thousands of people annually for an evening of entertainment and delicacies from more than 70 of the area's top restaurants.

Tickets for Zoobilation 2013, presented by Indianapolis Power & Light Company, are now on sale on the Indianapolis Zoo's website, IndianapolisZoo.com. This philanthropic gala always sells out fast, and with new features along with all the extravagance Zoobilation is known for, this year will be no exception. Now in its 27th year, Zoobilation runs from 7 p.m. to midnight June 14.

The Indianapolis Zoo will be closed that day in preparation for the event.

The theme for 2013 is "Safari in the City." Guests will become field guides exploring the zoo's scenic landscape while sampling a diverse selection of food and live entertainment. Restaurants participating in this year's event include many past favorites along with several new additions. Restaurants compete for the coveted blue ribbon awards as well as the people's choice award, with voting presented by ChaCha.

New for 2013 a limited number of guests can upgrade their status from field guide to head explorer to enjoy the premium VIP experience presented by the Scott A. Jones Foundation and ChaCha. VIP guests will arrive from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for an exclusive experience that includes priority parking, an arrival gift, cocktail and hors d'oeuvres service in the entry plaza, and full access to the air-conditioned Oasis Lounge in the Dolphin Adventure Gallery.

Event attire is black-tie and all guests must be 21 or older. General admission tickets are $250 (limit four) for zoo members, $275 for non-members, and $300 after March 1. Premium VIP tickets are $450 for zoo members, $475 for non-members, and $500 after March 1. Tickets are non-refundable. For reserve table packages call 630-2188.

Zoobilation attendees support the zoo's mission of advancing animal conservation. Each year, Zoobilation raises more than $1 million to help fund the care and feeding of the more than 2,000 animals and 16,000 plants in the zoo's collection. The event also supports the zoo's global animal conservation initiatives.
