Frozen conditions delay Brickyard Crossing opening

Originally scheduled to open March 15, Brickyard Crossing Golf Course will not open for play in the 2013 season until later this month due to frozen conditions on the course.

The course could open either March 21 or 22 with warmer weather conditions, said Brickyard Crossing PGA Director of Golf Jeff Williams.

Opening day for the golf course will also mark the beginning of the 2013 season at the Brickyard Crossing Restaurant. Dining hours will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays. A weekly Sunday brunch buffet will begin on Easter Sunday, March 31. It will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Sunday.

Information on the Brickyard Crossing is updated continuously via Twitter @BrickyardGC, through the Brickyard Crossing Facebook page, and on the Brickyard Crossing website at www.brickyardcrossing.com.

Brickyard Crossing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, designed by renowned golf course architect Pete Dye, is a public course available for play seven days per week. It includes four holes inside the world-famous IMS oval and 14 holes adjacent to the backstretch of the racetrack.

The course has earned many honors, including recent designation as one of “2010 Golfweek’s Best Courses You Can Play,” and in 2011 it was named one of Forbes magazine’s “12 Best Value Golf Courses in the U.S.” The course also has been voted as one of America’s top 100 public golf courses by Golf Digest and Golfweek
