Kirts-East wedding

Courtney Michele Kirts and Robert John East were married Jan. 23 on the veranda of Valle Vista Golf Club in Greenwood. Their double ring ceremony was performed by Pat Gavrity of San Dimas, Calif., friend and godfather of the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Franklin and Patty Kirts of Crawfordsville. Her maternal grandparents are the late Russell and Mary Griffith. Her paternal grandparents are Norma Kirts of Crawfordsville and the late Robert Kirts.

The groom is the son of Robert and Janice East of Pittsboro. His maternal grandparents are Wordella Kennedy of Brownsburg and the late John Kennedy. His paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Paula East.

The bride and groom had a memory table with photos set up in honor of their late loved ones.

Serving as ushers were Corey Kirts of Peru, brother of the bride, and Terry Cook of Mooresville, N.C., brother-in-law of the groom.

A bridal shower was hosted by Amy Cook and Alison Leffler, sisters of the groom. Wedding favors and other assistance were also provided by Cook and Leffler.

The bride and groom’s nephews and niece, Zachary Kirts, Avery Neal, Caitlyn Vespo, Charlie Leffler, and Cody Cook greeted guests and distributed ceremony programs.

A reception in the Grandview Ballroom at the Valle Vista Golf Club followed the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Maui, Hawaii, the couple is residing in Pittsboro with their dogs, Jermaine and Cassius.
