  • Committee suggests consolidation

    Citing the desire to have control over planning and development decisions in Brown and Lincoln Township here, a committee that has been studying a possible consolidation with the town gave a recommendation to reorganize during the Town Council meeting Thursday.

  • ISTEP results improved across county

    ISTEP results, released this week, show improvement across the board for Hendricks County schools.

    Each of the six public school corporations improved upon their scores from last year, with the exception of Plainfield schools, whose scores have been suppressed by the Indiana Department of Education for at least a month due to test processing errors.

    The Avon High School Auditorium was packed to capacity to honor the 915 students that earned all As in the 2009-10 school year.

  • Haunted house Haunted house to replace hayrides

    For the first time ever, the town of Brownsburg will transform into the town of “Hauntsburg” for the month of October.

    Okay, the town won’t really transform.

    But the inside of the former Blanck Chevrolet building will host the haunted town, making it one of the largest haunted houses in central Indiana.

  • Plainfield Youth Athletic Complex open Plainfield youth complex officially open

    Saturday marked the historic opening day of the Plainfield Youth Athletic Complex here.

    Though a short ceremony and the first pitch of the youth baseball league were set to a backdrop of rain, participants still turned out to see the first activity on the completed baseball diamonds.

  • Diabetes driver 1 Driving with diabetes

    Charlie Kimball says Oct. 16, 2007 is a day that he will remember as long as he lives.

    That was the day that the race car driver, now 25, was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes, making him the only licensed driver with diabetes in the history of the Indy Racing League.
