Hendricks County Senior Services (HCSS) will be sponsoring its monthly support group designed specifically for persons with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers.
The support group is open to baby boomers and senior citizens. Meetings are confidential and free of charge. The next meeting is 10:30 a.m. March 12 at the Hendricks County Senior Center, 1201 Sycamore Lane, Danville.
This month the topic will be about Ben Petrick, an MLB player that was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in his early 20s. Discussion will include his book Forty Thousand to One and a video of his life with PD and deep brain stimulation.
HCSS offers this service to help support those who are living with Parkinson’s and those who care for Parkinson’s patients. Juli Krizan from Hendricks Regional Health facilitates the support group. She is a physical therapist who has been practicing for more than 18 years; providing therapy to patients at Hendricks Regional Health.

Transportation is also available, if arranged well in advance. New participants are always welcome and membership in the senior center is not required.
