DANVILLE —
Hendricks County Senior Services offers a support group for people who have had a stroke, their caregivers, and anyone else who is interested.
The group is facilitated by caregiver Donna Martin.
The next meeting is from 10:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 20 at the Hendricks County Senior Center in Danville.
To arrange for transportation and/or to stay for lunch at noon, call HCSS at 745-4303.
Lunch is offered for a suggested $2 donation for anyone age 60 and older and their spouses.
Hendricks County Senior Services hosts its monthly Vision Loss Support Group at 10:30 a.m. on the third Thursday of each month at the Hendricks County Senior Center. The next meeting is at 10:30 a.m. May 16.
AVON — Leaders with Hendricks County Senior Services are changing things up this year with their annual 5K walk/run event. The event has a new name, new location, and some new features.
The Hendricks County Senior Center is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers the following activities:
Hendricks County Senior Services, along with VistaCare Hospice in Avon, is highlighting the importance of advance healthcare decision-making, an effort that has culminated in the formal designation of April 16 as National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD).
National Honor Society students from Danville Community High School invite area senior citizens to enjoy dinner, followed by games, at 6 p.m. April 12 at the Hendricks County Senior Center.
The search is on for Indiana’s outstanding senior volunteer.
