INDIANAPOLIS —
The staff at Crestwood Village West are preparing for several activities in September. Planned activities include:
Men’s Club — Savory and Safety will be presented at 9 a.m. Sept. 15 in the ballroom. Senior males are invited for a savory hot breakfast. The Senior Sentinels from the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office and Adult Protective Services will do a presentation on how to stay alert.
Red Hat Tea Party is 2 p.m. Sept. 13 in the ballroom. The Red Hat ladies are invited to bring their tea cups and partake in goodies as Aunt Ruthie’s Tea Parties entertains the audience with the history of tea. There will also be a sing-along.
A Medicare seminar is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sept. 28 in the ballroom. Those attending can learn about what is new with Medicare. Aging Avenues will be hosing the information session. Presenters will also discuss some of the expected rate increases senior citizens will be seeing in their supplemental policies.
Gospel Concert and Fried Chicken dinner is 6 p.m. in the ballroom. Participants will have the chance to see The Echoes of Calvary, an ensemble of men, sing in four-part harmony. The concert will include spirituals, blues, and jazz. Prior to the concert there will be a chicken dinner served from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Cost of the dinner is $7.75. The menu will include fried chicken, potato wedges, baked beans, cole slaw, dinner rolls, apple crisp, and drinks.
National Assisted Living Week will be celebrated Sept. 11-17. There will be a community-wide Grandparents’ Day Celebration featuring cherry pie and ice cream at 2 p.m. Sept. 11 in the ballroom. There will be a craft time for assisted living residents at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 12 where participants will make an American apple pie. Ladies from assisted living will be treated to manicures at 9 a.m. Sept. 15. There will be a community movie at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 15 in the ballroom. The assisted living residents will then be treated to glamour and glitz at 9 a.m. Sept. 16. There will also be a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. in the dining room on Sept. 16. The week’s activities will culminate with the Country Western Dinner Dance featuring the Gold Dust Band at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 17 in the ballroom. Dinner will be served from 4 to 5:30 p.m. with the music and dancing to follow.
