— Richard Clayton Gossett, formerly of North Salem, died Sept. 7 at Hendricks Regional Health. He was 81.
Born March 9, 1929, in North Salem, he was the son of the late Jewel and Geneva (Sellers) Gossett. He married Alice Marie Meyers on Dec. 31, 1950. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Gossett was a member of the North Salem Christian Church, F&AM 142 Masonic Lodge, and the Order of the Eastern Star Pittsboro.
Survivors include a son, Rick Gossett; a daughter, Ranell (Gossett) Brunner; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rena (Gossett) Walker, and a brother, Frank Gossett.
Services will take place at 11 a.m. Sept. 11 at Porter Funeral Home in North Salem with John D. Gossett officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 10 at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
