Linden L “Shorty” Ottinger of Danville died Tuesday at Danville Regional Rehabilitation Center. He was 70.
Born July 10, 1942, in Knightstown, he was a son of Dennis and June McGinn Ottinger. He married Marianne “Marti” (Wegehoft) Angrick on May 15, 1989, and she survives.
After leaving high school, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. During his lifetime he had many occupations including butcher, truckdriver, and also working for Sycamore Services, Inc. Mr. Ottinger enjoyed fishing, Nascar racing, and going on cruises.
Additional survivors include sons William and Jeremy Ottinger; daughters Christina Young, Jami Ottinger, Amy (Clay) Williams, and Melissa (Matt) Himsel; brothers Kenneth and Larry Ottinger; and 13 grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Baker Funeral Home in Danville.
Interment with full military honors will follow at New Winchester Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
