David L. Steele died Tuesday at the age of 70.
Mr. Steele was a sixth-grade teacher and athletic director for the Avon Community School System for more than 30 years.
Survivors include his parents, Luther and Bettie Steele; sisters Becky (Gary) Thornley and Debbie Woodson; children Heather (Danny) Durr, Tiffany Coke, Amanda Steele, Chelsea Steele, Jim Steiner, and Leslie Steiner; and grandchildren Kara Morrill, Dylan Durr, Devan Durr, Darcy Durr, Eli Coke, Emma Coke, Olivia Coke, Poet Steele, Isabella Steiner, and Ally Steiner.
A celebration of his life was at Conkle Funeral Home in Avon.
Memorials may be made to the David Steele Avon Athletic Scholarship Fund at the memorial service or at Avon Middle School South.
