Anita Evy Nine of Plainfield died Oct. 3. She was 74.
Born Dec. 26, 1937, in Jonkoping, Sweden, she was a daughter of Carl and Carin Sandberg Froden.
Mrs. Nine immigrated to New York in 1960, where she modeled clothing, before moving to Las Vegas where she worked more than 30 years as an operator for Sprint Telephone Company.
She enjoyed sewing and, after moving to Hendricks County, she worked for Viking in Avon. There, she became part of a group of seamstresses that enjoyed embroidery and quilting.
Survivors include daughters Toynie (Jason) Wurtzel and Loretta (Ben) Bishoff; five granddaughters Nicole, Leah, Carin, Kerstin, and Ahna; and an ex-husband, Tom Nine.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
