Sue Gilliam

Sue Gilliam of Brownsburg died last Saturday at Kindred Health Care in Greenwood. She was 67.

Born July 22, 1945, in Indianapolis, she was a daughter of the late George Washington Jr. and Doris W. (Ping) Orr. She married Loyd Gilliam Sr. and he died in 1980.

She was reared and educated in Indianapolis, where she graduated from high school. She had lived most of her life in Brownsburg, but had also lived in Indianapolis and Greenwood.

Mrs. Gilliam was a 25-year employee of Brownsburg Nursing Home in Brownsburg, where she worked as a CNA.

She was an active member of Life’s Temple Church in Clayton, and worked at the food pantry there on Saturday mornings.

Survivors include children Judy S. Everling and husband Michael of Greenwood, Loyd Gilliam Jr. and wife Kellie of Pittsboro, and Julie Sailor and husband Nathan of Pittsboro; grandchildren Sara Welsh,

Nicolas Gilliam, Hayley Gilliam, Greggory Gilliam, Rick Gilliam, and Austin Burdine; and brothers Thomas Martin of Tucson, Ariz., and Charles Orr of Bloomfield.

Preceding her in death were a daughter, Sara; a son, Daniel; and grandchildren Brandy Lovins and Daniel Burdine.

Services are 11 a.m. Nov. 7 at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon St., Lebanon, with the Rev. Leonard Frederick officiating. Interment will follow at the K of P Cemetery in Lizton.

Calling at the mortuary is for an hour and a half prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Myers Mortuary.
