William J. “Bill” Bell Jr.

William J. “Bill” Bell Jr. of Danville died Tuesday in Danville. He was 92.

Born Dec. 29, 1919, in Danville, he was a son of Mabel Clark and William Jackson Bell Sr. He married Mary Mildred Blair on June 17, 1943, and she died in 2008.

Mr. Bell was a self-employed farmer his entire life.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Don) Matherly of Danville; grandchildren William Scherer, Donald M., Michelle and Joseph Matherly; and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was a daughter, Marcia Mechling, and a sister, Jewell Bell.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at Baker Funeral Home in Danville. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in North Salem.

Calling at the funeral home is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday.
