Gerald Rex Brattain of Danville died Wednesday. He was 73.
Mr. Brattain was born in Lansing, Mich. He went to Green Castle High School and served in the U.S. Army with the 81 Division Paratroopers.
He worked as a truck driver.
Mr. Brattain enjoyed camping and bicycling. He was a member of Cathedral of Prayer Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Dewayne Brattain; a sister, Dixie Visker Brattain; a companion of 20 years, Norma Fortune; and a grandchild, Elizabeth Brattain.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Rosemary Brattain; a sister, Rosemarie Steely; and a son, Gerald Brattain.
Private graveside services are planned.
Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Royster-Askin-Sandrock Chapel, at 2310 W. Washington St., Indianapolis, is handling arrangements.
