Carl E. Robbins Jr.

Carl E. Robbins Jr. of Amo died Wednesday at Heartland of Marysville in Marysville, Ohio. He was 84.

Born Jan. 4, 1929, in Pennington Gap, Va., he was a son of the late Carl E. and Ressie Robbins Sr. He married Rose Christine Alexander Robbins on June 10, 1961, in Indianapolis, and she survives.

Mr. Robbins was a resident of Amo for more than 40 years. He and his wife recently moved to Marysville to be close to family.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired in 1987 as a parts supervisor at General Motors in Indianapolis after 28 years of service.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and of the Masonic Lodge.

Additional survivors include a son, Stephen (Samantha) Robbins of Evansville; a daughter, Karen (Robert) Hembree of Marysville; grandchildren Maggie and Joshua Robbins and Aaron, Ryan, and Brandy Hembree; a sister, Beulah (Ted) Low of Rock Hill, S.C.; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were sisters Lorraine Weaver and Wilma Collier.

Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Amo United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Torrence officiating. Interment will be at Amo Cemetery in Hendricks County.

Calling is for an hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be made to Hope4EveryChild, in care of Living Hope Church in Marysville, Ohio.

Underwood Funeral Home in Marysville is handling arrangements.
