Dorthea J. Mason of Greencastle died Wednesday at the Mill Pond Health Campus. She was 80.
Born Nov. 29, 1929, in St. Louis, Mo., she was a daughter of the late Rudolph Francis and Ethel Emma (Ney) Windey. She married Harold Eugene Mason on Jan. 26, 1952. He died in 2005.
Mrs. Mason was a graduate of Mehlville High School. She and her husband had owned and operated Mason Jewelers in Greencastle and Plainfield for 52 years.
She was member of the Elks Lodge, Eagles Lodge, and the Moose Lodge, all of Greencastle.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Kimberly Mason of Greencastle and Scott and JeanAnn Mason of Reelsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry Mason and David Fulton of Whitestown; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a son, Mark Mason, and a granddaughter, Jessica Mason.
Services are 4 p.m. Saturday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, 602 E. Washington St., Greencastle, with the Rev. Alan Small officiating.
Calling at the funeral home will be for two hours prior to the service.
