Norma Jean Young of Greencastle died last Sunday at The Waters of Greencastle. She was 85 and had formerly resided in New Winchester.
Born May 17, 1924, in Marion County, she was a daughter of Sidney R. and Maude Estes Johnson. She married James W. Young, who died in 1981.
Mrs. Young had been an office worker for Kiefer-Stewart Wholesale Co. and had done volunteer work for various organizations.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James M. and Joyce Young of North Carolina; a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Carolyn Johnson of Plainfield; grandchildren Michalina Good and husband Fred of Danville and Steve Young and wife Cindy of Bainbridge; great-grandchildren Kaley and Alyssa Young; and nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were three sisters and four brothers.
Private graveside services were held at the New Winchester Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Taylor officiating.
Hays Funeral Home in Coatesville assisted with arrangements.
