Norma J. Poynter of Plainfield died Monday at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove. She was 69.
Born Sept. 13, 1940, in Indianapolis, she was a daughter of Alton and Georgia Head Walker. She married Randolph “Randy” Poynter in 1972, and he survives.
Mrs. Poynter worked several years as a clerical worker for Golden Rule Insurance in Indianapolis before retiring.
Additional survivors include children Alan and wife Janie, Vickie, Gary Puett, and Randy Poynter and wife Ivy; sisters Willadene Hackler, Wanda Chambers, and Joyce Walker; and five grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Linda Walker.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield with the Rev. John Lilly officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
Calling at the funeral home is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
