John N. Gott of Avon died Monday morning at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was 72.
Born Jan. 1, 1937, in Crawfordsville, he was a son of Owen and Frances Wright Gott. He married Laura Burnside in Crawfordsville on Jan. 20, 1962, and she survives.
Mr. Gott graduated from Ladoga High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as an airline mechanic for U.S. Air, retiring in 1994. He worked as a groundskeeper at Prestwick Golf Course from 2003 to ‘08.
He was a member of the Ladoga Masonic Lodge.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Cindy Morgan of Lebanon; step-children Glenna Haynes of Greensboro, N.C., and Keith Hughes of Temple, Texas; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home, 203 N. Washington St., Ladoga. Interment will be at Ladoga Cemetery.
Calling at the funeral home is for two hours prior to the service.
