Margaret Ann O’Kon of Plainfield died Friday. She was 71.
Born Aug. 12, 1938, in Brazil, she was a daughter of the late William and Lenora (Wheeler) Stanley.
She was a 1956 graduate of Plainfield High School and worked 22 years for PSI in Plainfield before retiring in 1995 as an executive secretary.
Mrs. O’Kon was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plainfield. She volunteered for the food pantry and other activities in the church, including the Church Federation. She participated in the Study Buddy program offered in the Plainfield schools.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Tammy, Scott and Stephaine, and Kyle and Stacey Edrington; a brother, Arty Bill Stanley; a sister, Loretta Jordan; grandchildren Michael, Stan, Nikki, and Gennifer Edrington; a niece, Karen Williams; and nephews Keith and Doug Jordan.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Michael J. O’Kon.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Plainfield, 1012 Stafford Road. Interment will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Plainfield.
Calling at the church is from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Plainfield or St. Mark’s Food Pantry.
Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home in Plainfield is handling arrangements.
