Merle April Dickerson died Tuesday at Brownsburg Nursing & Rehab. She was 95 and had formerly resided in Lizton.

Born April 24, 1914, near Lizton, she was a daughter of the late Cornelius and Allie Livesay Trent. She married Samuel Dickerson on Nov. 8, 1933. They began their married life in a log house north of Lizton. They had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before he passed away on March 28, 1984.

Mrs. Dickerson had worked at H.P. Wasson’s, Wm. H. Block & Co., and the Lizton Post Office.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and George Desich; grandchildren George E. Desich, Sue Bennett, Janet Hutcherson, and Judy Nelson; 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; sisters Maud Sherrard Ragsdale and Ethel Duke; a brother, Ray Trent; sisters-in-law Annie Trent and Ruth Trent; 12 nieces and two nephews; and the “foster” family of Keith and Martha Greve.

Preceding her in death were two infant children and brothers Fred, Troy, and Bennie Trent.

Services are 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Porter Funeral Home, 315 W. Main St., Jamestown, with Garland Kincaid officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in North Salem.

Calling at the funeral home is for two hours prior to the service.
