Robert Henry Clark


Robert Henry Clark recently died.

Born Jan. 23, 1931, in Indianapolis, he was a son of the late Ivan J. and Flossie (Gossman-Head) Clark. He married Marilyn J. (Hoppes-Halford) on March 3, 1973.

He was reared in the Scipio area.

Mr. Clark attended Scipio School through the first semester of his sophomore year, and then transferred to North Vernon High School. Following graduation, he worked for Quality Mill Supply Company.

He served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He then worked for various other firms, but returned to Quality Mill Supply Company, from which he retired in 1995.

In his early years, he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America.

Mr. Clark was a member of the East Columbus Christian Church and the American Society of Tool and Manufacturing Engineers.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery L. and Debra Clark of Ham Lake, Minn.; step-daughters Dana J. McKean and husband Dave of Shelbyville, Elaine L. Herbert and husband Gary of Columbus, and Lisa J. Parker of North Vernon; a half-sister, Betty L. Whittemore of California; and a half-brother, Karl Head of Franklin.

Preceding him in death were two half-sisters.

Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at the North Vernon First Christian Church, with the Revs. Ron Bridgewater and Gilbert Schreiber officiating. Private burial services for the family will be at Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
