Elmalou Lowry

Elmalou Lowry of Plainfield died Saturday at Meadow Lakes in Mooresville. She was 87.

Born in Brazil, she was a daughter of Lincoln and Edith Apple Goddard. She was the widow of Emsley “Woody” Lowry.

Mrs. Lowry worked 31 years for FMC Link Belt Corp., retiring as supervisor of shipping. She was also a secretary at Plainfield Eagles Lodge No. 3207.

She was a member of the New Providence Baptist Church, Order of Eastern Star No. 414, and the women’s auxiliary at the Eagles.

Survivors include her children, Delana “Dee” Wingler, Pamelia “Cookie” Hepfer, Valjia “Bootie” White and Vanessa “Corkie” Unterreiner; a brother, Larry Goddard; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
