Ivan Louis Katz died Dec. 23 at the age of 79.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., one of his fondest childhood memories was going to Ebbets Field to watch the Brooklyn Dodgers.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Twelve years ago, he moved to Indianapolis to be near his daughter and her family. For 10 years he worked in the TLE department of the 86th Street Walmart, before becoming ill.
He enjoyed story telling and reminiscing.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Linda (Lynn); a daughter, Wendy Mara Katz-Cutler; a son-in-law, Michael Cutler; grandsons Matthew, Jordan, and Ryan Cutler; an older brother, Harvey; and extended family members.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter, and younger brother.
A private cremation service will be Thursday.
