— Steve Overbay Jr. of Roachdale died Saturday at Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis. He was 74.
Born Sept. 16, 1937, in London, Ky., he was a son of the late Steve and Eliza Brummett Overbay. He married Greta Ray on March 26, 1958, in Jelico, Tenn., and she survives.
Mr. Overbay was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a self-employed as a sheet metal fabricator.
He was a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Indianapolis, enjoyed playing the mandolin, and was an avid fisherman.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Debra “William” Malicoat of Roachdale; a daughter-in-law, Dawn Overbay of Roachdale; sisters Mayme Proffitt, Zelma Proffitt, Goldie Proffitt, Janie Swanner, Olamae Hubbard, Elgene Napier, Sue Jackson, and Brenda Isaacs, all of London, Ky.; a brother, Bobby Overbay of London, Ky.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the New Maysville Community Church with Damon Finley and Larry Edwards officiating. Interment will be at the New Maysville Cemetery.
Calling at the church is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Services-Morgan Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
