Phillip E. Couch died Wednesday at his Danville home. He was 74.
Born Nov. 22, 1935, in Hillsboro, Ala., he was a son of the late Charles and Flora Peebles Couch. He married J. Marlene Skeen on Oct. 23, 1967, in Decatur, Ala., and she died in 2003.
Mr. Couch was a boilermaker (welder) for several years before he and his wife started their own business in Danville called National Tank Service. They owned the company for 22 years before retiring in the early 1990s. He was also a farmer, raising pigs, cows, and horses.
Survivors include his children, Timmy Couch of Alabama, Michelle Bowman of Ohio, Eric Martin of Indianapolis, and Kim Cantrell of Plainfield; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were sons Kenny and Phil Jr.; a daughter, Phyllis Norman; and his siblings.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Baker Funeral Home in Danville. Interment will follow at Mill Creek Cemetery.
Calling at the funeral home will be for two hours prior to the service.
