Dallas G. Gooch of Plainfield died Tuesday. He was 87 and had formerly resided in Greencastle.
Born June 29, 1923, in Detroit, Mich., he was a son of the late Clarence and Dessa Mitchell Gooch.
Mr. Gooch was a 1941 graduate of Clinton Center High School. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II during the Normandy invasion. He was a 33-year employee of IBM, retiring as an electrician.
He was a member of Temple Masonic Lodge No. 47, Greencastle VFW Post No. 1550, and American Legion Post No. 58.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Thelma M. Starwalt Gooch; daughters Carol See of Golden, Colo., Cathy Kaiser and husband Douglas of Plainfield, and Cindy Reussow of Lakewood, Colo.; a sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Jim Church of Coatesville; grandchildren Jason See, Julie See, Cody Flint, Nicholas Kaiser, Kayla Kaiser, and Joseph Kaiser; and great-grandchildren Ryan See, Bradley See, Tanner Toombs, and Brooklyn Toombs.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, 4 Percy L. Julian Drive. Interment will follow at Brick Chapel Cemetery.
