Erma Dean Clark of Auburn, Ind., and formerly of Plainfield died Tuesday in Smith Farms Manor at Auburn.
Born Dec. 4, 1921, in Morgan County, she was the daughter of Virgil Walter and Dorothy Ireta (Willis) Shumaker. Her mother later married Scoville “Pat” Chowning. Erma married Charles Bosler Clark on Dec. 6, 1939, in Martinsville. He died in 2009.
Mrs. Clark was a 1939 Mooresville High School graduate. She was a homemaker who also lived in Mooresville, Indianapolis, and Logansport. After her husband’s death, Mrs. Clark moved to Auburn to be near her daughter.
Her memberships included Disciples of Christ, Order of the Eastern Star, and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include three grandsons, Creager Smith and wife Joan of Fort Wayne, Thompson Smith and wife Jama of Auburn, and Patrick Smith and wife Mary of Auburn; and six great-grandchildren, Kathleen and Leah Smith of Fort Wayne and Conner, Caleb, Kendyl, and Kaitlyn Smith of Auburn.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Alice (Clark) Smith, and her son-in-law, John Martin Smith.
Graveside services are 3 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn, with Dr. Robert Craig officiating. Visitation is 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 S. Center St., Auburn.
