Opal Irene Frazier of New Ross died Saturday at Avon Health and Rehab. She was 101.

Born Nov. 3, 1907, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Cora McCloud Stewart.

She married James A. Frazier and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Frazier was a member of Harvestime Fellowship Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed writing poems about people she knew, especially her grandchildren. She also raised chickens and made homemade butter and cottage cheese.

Survivors include daughters, Patty (Woody) Woodrum of North Salem, Marge (Joe) Stultz of Greencastle, Joyce (Art) Thomas of North Salem; sons, Ted (Marilyn) Frazier of North Salem and Ron (Leslie) Frazier of North Salem; a sister, Ruth Wethington of Ladoga; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several step grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.

Services will be at 10 a.m. July 29 at Porter Funeral Home in Jamestown with Art Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in North Salem.

Calling will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. July 28 at the funeral home.
