— Karen S. Jarvis died Wednesday at her Camby home. She was 61.
Born May 13, 1951, in Indianapolis, she was a daughter of Patricia (Hill) Eckstein and the late Fred Eckstein. She married Charles Jarvis on Nov. 27, 1971, and he survives.
Mrs. Jarvis graduated from Monrovia High School and attended Purdue University. She worked for the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, American State Insurance, and was a cook for the Plainfield School Corporation. For more than 16 years, she worked for Dick’s Sporting Goods in the PCO Office.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mooresville and a life-member of the Indiana Beekeepers’ Association. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Additional survivors include her mother, Patricia Eckstein of Mooresville; children Angela Jarvis of Indianapolis, Janet Jarvis of Champaign, Ill., and Michael Jarvis of Mooresville; sisters Monica Overman and husband James of Bloomington, and Kathie Tooley and husband Larry of Mooresville; a brother, Fred K. Eckstein II and wife Norrine of Virginia; and grandchildren Danielle Jarvis, Korva Jarvis, and Oscar Huizenga.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville with the Rev. Dennis Payton officiating. Interment will follow at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
Calling at the funeral home is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
