Mary Ann Franco of Pittsboro at Ft. Pierce, Fla., died Thursday. She was 71.
Mrs. Franco was a graduate of St. Agnes Academy. She earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Mt. St. Joseph’s College and Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. She then taught nursing at St. Vincent Hospital, worked in a private physician’s office, and was a homemaker.
She was an active member of St. Malachy in Brownsburg and St. Mark the Evangelist Church in Ft. Pierce, Fla. She was past president of St. Malachy Board of Total Catholic Education, a Eucharistic minister, and has volunteered for several charitable organizations providing hours of service both in Indiana and Florida.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Gerald Franco; children Maureen Daehler and husband Keith, Lisa Robison and husband David, Brian Franco and wife Angi, and Mark Franco and wife Jamie; grandchildren Kyle, Alayna, Brayden, Derek, Dylan, and Cyara Daehler, Rachel, Sarah, and Emily Robison, Connor Franco, Hannah and Hunter Heim, Van and Lauren Franco.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Aug. 1 at St. Malachy Church.
Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. July 31 at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg.
