Albert Paul Neeley of Plainfield died Thursday in Manorcare at Prestwick in Avon. He was 88.
Born Nov. 20, 1923, in Inman, Va., he was the son of James Patton and Dora Spears Neeley. He married Zula Todd and she preceded him in death.
Mr. Neeley was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked 38 years as a truck driver for Daum’s Overnite Express, retiring in 1988. He also was trustee and caretaker of Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield for several years.
His memberships included Greencastle Masonic Lodge 47.
Survivors include a son, Randy Neeley and wife Lauri; a grandson, Brian Neeley and wife Brooke; stepgrandchildren Jessica, Shelby, and Bailey; and great-grandchildren Silas and Raina.
His son Dennis Neeley died in 1967 during the Vietnam War. Paul was the last survivor of 10 children, including seven brothers and two sisters.
Services are 11 a.m. Sept. 17 in the Maple Hill Cemetery Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Pycraft officiating. Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sept. 16 in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with Masonic services starting at 6 p.m.
