Rosemary Allen died Sept. 2. She was 77.

Born Dec. 27, 1932, in Fort Ritner, Ind., she was the daughter of Gus Myers and Dovie Myers Cathcart. They preceded her in death.

She married C. Roscoe Allen Jr. in 1950. He survives.

The couple lived in Indianapolis until 1971 and then moved to Avon where they have lived for 38 years.

Mrs. Allen attended Tech High School and Manual High School in Indianapolis. She was employed with the Indiana National Bank, Key West Shrimp House, and Hyatt Regency, in downtown Indianapolis.

Later in life, she enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved cooking and trying new recipes. She and her husband were active members of the Indianapolis Jazz Club for many years. She also attended the annual U.S.S. Keokuk reunions with her husband's fellow World War II sailor friends and their families. She was also concerned about the welfare of homeless animals and supported local Humane Societies.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Theodore Allen, Diane (Louis) Havely; grandchildren, Douglas (Chris) Schneider, Timothy (Jennifer) Havely, Christopher Havely; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Art Myers, and sisters Louise Hadley and Mildred Clark.

Her ashes will be interred at The Gardens at Olive Branch Cemetery in a private family service prior to the celebration of life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Special Olympics Indiana, 6100 W. 96th St., Suite 270, Indianapolis, IN 46278; or Humane Society of Indianapolis, 7929 Michigan Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268.
