Russell Irving Gericke of Danville died Aug. 27 at the age of 74.

Born Nov. 19, 1935, in Newman, Ill., he was a son of the late Russell H. and Loene (Sterling) Gericke. He married Mary Lou Martin in Danville in July of 1995, and she survives.

Mr. Gericke retired from Link Belt in 1979, and was then self employed as a salesman for large equipment.

Additional survivors include daughters Debi Neal and Diane Davidson; stepsons Doug, Jeff, Steve, and Darrell Chandler; sisters Nina L. Burger, Shirley R. Riddle, and Connie Sisel; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a daughter, Linda Yvonne Gericke; a brother, Ray Gericke; and a sister, Hazel Gericke.

Services are 6 p.m. Thursday at David A. Hall Mortuary, 220 N. Maple St., Pittsboro.

Calling at the mortuary is for two hours prior to the service.
