Shelby Thomas Hobbs of Brownsburg died Wednesday. He was 27.
Born March 4, 1985, at Castle Air Force Base in California, he was a son of Shelby R. and Renee Lynn (Anderson) Hobbs.
Mr. Hobbs was an airman in the Civil Air Patron, an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force.
He had reached the rank of captain in a Star Trek-based fan club as commander of the USS Telek NCC461112. He enjoyed making authentic Star Trek uniforms and working on his computer designing websites for the Star Trek fan clubs.
He also enjoyed preaching from the Bible to his great-grandmother, Leona Anderson.
Survivors include his grandmothers, Susan Wilhoit and Alice Laughridge; sisters Noriko, Kiyoko, and Robin Ann; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his four miniature Dachshunds, Fritzy, Baby girl, Fritzy Fritzpatrick, and Angel Baby.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Butler County Memorial Park Cemetery, 4570 Trenton Oxford Road, Hamilton, OH 45011.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
