Pastor Andy Arnett Sr. of Plainfield died Tuesday. He was 77.
Born Nov. 9, 1934, in Saul, Ky., he was a son of the late Steve and Hulda May (Couch) Arnett. He married Jo Anne McKamey on Jan. 23, 1954. She survives.
Mr. Arnett owned three convenient stores called Little Giant Foods before going into the ministry full-time. He founded Cathedral of Prayer Baptist Church in 1975 and remained minister there until this year. He also was a member of the “Sword of the Lord.”
Also surviving are a daughter, Sheryl Lynn Tutterow and husband Jeff of Stilesville; two sons, Andy Arnett Jr. and wife Cheryl and Charles Steven Arnett, all of Plainfield; two half-sisters, Loretta Reimers of Grove City, Pa., and Betty Jean Russ of Morgantown; a half-brother, Walter Lee Embry of Morgantown, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Angel, Amber, Jeffrey, Brittany, Christian, Chaz, and Steven; and eight great-grandchildren, Connor, Tatum, Jett, Tenley, Karlee, Maelynn, Steven, and Autum.
A brother, Burchel Arnett, also preceded him in death.
Services are 7 p.m. Aug. 3 in Cathedral of Prayer Baptist Church, 8446 E. C.R. 700 S., Plainfield, where friends may call from 2 p.m. until service time. A private burial will be conducted at Clayton Cemetery.
