C. Frederick "Fred" Dykins

C. Frederick “Fred” Dykins of Plainfield died Tuesday in the Plainfield Healthcare Center. He was 80.

He was born Jan. 18, 1932, in Anderson, Ind. Mr. Dykins was a longtime educator who taught in California, Illinois, Kentucky, and Indiana before retiring in 2007. His memberships included Plainfield United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Florence Squires Dykins; a son, Chuck Dykins; a daughter, Becky (Mark) Rottmann; grandchildren Taylor, Kyle, and Korbin Dykins and Stephanie and Harper Rottmann; several nieces and nephews, and a large extended family.

A private family memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Hall-Bake Funeral Home in Plainfield is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Music Mission Kiev, 286 Wilshire Blvd., Casselberry, FL 32707-5362.
