J.L. “Jewell” Pepper of Avon died Thursday. He was 74.
Born Sept. 23, 1937, he was a son of the late Elmer and Beatrice (Mammie) Creason Pepper.
Mr. Pepper was a retired Teamster worker from Kroger Warehouse, where he had worked for more than 37 years.
He enjoyed playing cards, shooting his guns, hanging out with his friends at the Paragon restaurant, riding around with his dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Sue Pepper; a brother, Bobby (Debbie) Pepper; a nephews, Greg Pepper; children Billy Bell, Gerry Bell, Danny (Bonnie) Bell, Brenda (Matt) Hause, Carolyn (Ronnie) Matthews, and DeWayne (Pam) Bell; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild; a daughter-in-law, Hope (Bambi) Bell; and a sister-in-law, Rita Brosius.
Services are 3 p.m. Sunday at Conkle Funeral Home in Avon.
Calling at the funeral home is for two hours prior to the service.
