Pauline Ellen McFarland of Brownsburg died Monday at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville. She was 63.
Born Feb. 2, 1946, in Danville, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Doris (Hughes) Retherford. She married Donald E. McFarland on July 9, 1983. He died in 1998.
She graduated from Danville High School in 1964. She retired from Blue Cross-Blue Shield in 1999, after more than 28 years of service.
Mrs. McFarland was an active member of Clermont Church of the Nazarene, where she also played the piano part-time. She was an avid golfer and often played at Quail Creek. In addition, she enjoyed playing euchre and traveling.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Max and Connie Retherford of Tucson, Ariz.; a step-son, Duane McFarland and wife Shannon of Mooresville; a step-daughter, Donna Farr and husband Kenneth of Martinsville; grandchildren Dustin and Brandon Davis, Brian, Sean and Jessica McFarland, and Tyler Snyder; great-grandchildren Dylan McFarland and Noah Davis; an aunt, Roberta Lyons of Hazelwood; sisters Earlene McFarland of Brooklyn and Nancy Rogers of Richmond; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Clermont Church of the Nazarene, 3330 1st Ave., Indianapolis, with the Rev. Bruce Bowlin officiating. Interment will be at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
Calling at the church is for three hours prior to the service.
