Dickie Brent McPhail of Monrovia died Wednesday at the age of 68.
Born Aug. 24, 1943, in Indianapolis, he was a son of the late Fred and Thelma (McBride) McPhail.
Mr. McPhail graduated from Monrovia High School in 1961. He retired from Allison Division of General Motors in 1992 after 30 years of employment. He later worked for various machine shops including AMG Engineering and Machinery, Indiana Machine Works, and Banks Machine and Engineering.
He was a member of Life Line Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, classic cars, and golfing.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Charlotte (Johnson) McPhail; children Dodie Schubert and husband Lloyd of Rockford, Ill., Debbie Moore and husband Larry of Mooresville, and Brad McPhail and wife Megan of Avon; a twin brother, Kent McPhail and wife Donna of Plainfield; a sister, Nancy Allen of Brazil; grandchildren Morgan, Adam, and Levi Schubert, and Justin, Spencer, Evan, and Nolan Moore, and Quinn, Griffin, and Aidan McPhail; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Life Line Baptist Church, 13387 Slideoff Road, Camby, with the Rev. Tim Lindsey officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
