Arne “LeRoy” Pickering of Avon died Dec. 27, 2012. He was 77.
Mr. Pickering served in the U.S. Army, worked as a field underwriter for State Farm Insurance, and was also a retired minister.
He was a member of Promise Keepers, Southern Baptist Association, CPCU, and Plainfield Baptist Church. He was also involved in mission work.
Survivors include daughters Gail Gibson and husband John, Deborah Urick and husband William, and Kimberly Pickering; a son, Jeffrey Pickering and wife Dawn; a brother, Dan Pickering; a sister, Mary Lou Mattocks; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Patricia Pickering, and a brother, Charles Pickering.
Services are noon Friday at Plainfield Baptist Church. Interment is at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Calling is for two hours prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
