Mary “Bonnie” Vehling of Indianapolis died Wednesday. She was 87.
Born Dec. 16, 1924, in Indianapolis, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Lillian (Pack) Lex.
Mrs. Vehling was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Pleasant Run United Church of Christ, where she served as past president of the ladies guild. She was active in the church choir, and was a Sunday school teacher. She also attended Stilesville Christian Church, where she was a member of the Helping Hands.
Survivors include her children, Richard (Carol) Vehling, Rebecca Hansen, Robin (Jane) Vehling, Ramona (Don) Callender, Roxann (John) Simmons, Randall (Rajean) Vehling, and Rachel McKinney; 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; brothers John W., Richard R., William E., and Thomas M. Lex; a sister, Annie C. Gocke; and many friends.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert Vehling; a son, Robert Vehling; a grandson, Justin McKinney; a daughter-in-law, Riki Vehling; a son-in-law, James Hansen; a sister, Norma D. Hittle; and a brother, Bobby Lex.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Calling at the funeral home is from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
