Willard Leroy Adams of Plainfield died Sunday. He was 69.
Born July 20, 1943, in Levee, Ky., he was a son of the late James and Lillie Adams Sr.
Mr. Adams was a U.S. Army veteran. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1961 and received his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Indiana University. He was a reporter for more than 45 years with UPI wire service and the Mooresville Times Newspaper.
He was a member of the Indiana University Alumni Association and the Nature Conservancy.
Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Adams; a brother, James (Ed) Adams; an uncle, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Preceding him in death was a sister, Patricia S. Morrell.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home. Interment will be at Lincoln Memory Gardens Cemetery in Whitestown.
Calling at the funeral home is for two hours prior to the service.
