PV2 Erin M. Crabtree completed her basic training with the U.S. Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., in May. After a month of advanced training with Echo Co., 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry, she was transferred to Fort Bliss, Texas.

On Sept. 13, her company was deployed to Iraq.

She is the daughter of Roger and Sara Crabtree of Indianapolis and Kelly Essex of Brownsburg.
