Ruth Dorris will celebrate her 102nd birthday on June 9.
She was born in Portland, Tenn., and moved to Indiana in 1947. She currently resides at HCR Manor Care at Prestwick.
Mrs. Dorris has four children.
Her favorite hobbies have been sewing and quilting and her favorite meal is beans and cornbread.
She continues to enjoy family visits and reminiscing.
Marking 100 years
Ethel Price, formerly of Thorntown, will celebrate her 100th birthday with family and friends at an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Thorntown Public Library, 124 N. Market St.

Cheryl Clark-Phillips, formerly of Stilesville, will celebrate her 60th birthday with friends and family at an open house party from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at Plainfield Baptist Church, 1575 Reeves Road.
