Police make arrest in murder of 13-year-old

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolise Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives have made an arrest in the Aug. 5 murder of Jarrell Tucker, 13.

Glenn Beard, 56, turned himself into police this week and was subsequently arrested.

IMPD officers were called to the 100 block of North Denny Street on a report of a person who had been shot. They found Tucker in an ally with gunshot wounds to his head and thigh. He was transported to Riley Hospital for Children and died the next day.

Beard has been charged with murder and being a serious violent felon in possession of a firearm.
